“Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” may be the most recommended business/ entrepreneurial book of all time, and for good reason. The books creates a great basis for breaking out of the normal, “work for someone,” mindset and helps the reader understand some basic habits of the rich. Most notably creating passive income (cash flow) from investments, whether that be from rental properties, stocks or businesses to more than cover your regular liabilities.

“Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” is a very basic intro to personal finance and would be great for anyone who doesn’t have an investing background, for the more experienced investor the book is a bit of a time waster and really only covers intro level topics.

I would give, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” by Robert Kiyosaki a 5/10 for the regular business minded individual and a 8/10 for the newbie investor, taking the average of the two, makes “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” a 6.5/10 on the Fletcher Dilmore book scale.
