‘The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York,” by Robert Caro is easily one of the best & longest books I’ve ever read. “The Power Broker,” details the rise and fall of New York Cities most powerful and influential man, Robert Moses, who over a span of 40 years controlled nearly every development, park, highway, bridge, dam and toll road in New York City and state. Robert Moses influence can be found the world over, whether that be on the American interstate system or far flung corners of the world as Brazil and Japan, city planners the world over flocked to New York City to see the masterful planning and construction Mr. Moses had undertaken.
On the Fletcher Dilmore book review scale, this easily scores a 10/10 for any real estate minded individual or frankly anyone who is interested in politics, power and the ways New York City was constructed. I absolutely loved this book and have found that it has worked its’ way into countless conversations in the year since I originally read it.
